#TpTSellerChallenge: Make Your Masterpiece!

Again this week, I am so grateful for this challenge! After my training last week I knew I had to get going on more vocabulary activities for my kiddos this year. This weeks challenge inspired me to finish this product that is FULL of vocabulary activities to use with different words each week. Thanks Third in Hollywood, Sparkling in Second, Teach Create Motivate, and Peppy Zesty Teacherista for hosting this challenge!

One thing I definitely want to work on incorporating this year is more of a home-school connection with vocabulary. I want my kids to be constantly aware of the vocabulary they are reading in text and how to figure out what words mean if they aren't sure. So as part of this packet, you will get a parent letter and a response sheet for students to use at home when they find a new vocabulary word!

In my classroom this will not be a "required" assignment but students will always have a response sheet in their take home folder for when they find a new word. I keep a "I want to share" binder at the front of my classroom. Students will put their sheets in that binder so they can share their word with their classmates when we have an extra minute or before dismissal!

Next, I created some games to use in my classroom throughout the week. I have used all of these games before but I wanted to incorporate more responses where students had to also write down their thinking before or after the game.

Game #1: Clue Club
Laminate cards and staple them onto sentence strip hats. With a dry erase marker, write a word on each student's head. Have students get with a partner and allow the partner to give the students clues until they guess the word on their head. Students can fill out the response sheet afterwards as a reflection activity.

Cards to Laminate

Game #2: Charades Mania
Write each weeks vocabulary words on the charade cards. In advance, have students write each word and describe how they would act it out. Afterwards, students can play charades with the words. Keep old vocabulary and play with those words so students have to recall and continue to apply those words all year long!

Game #3:  Roll it, know it, show it!
This game is great way to review words and can even be used as a weekly center. All you need is a dice!

Game #4: Vocabulary Tic-Tac-Toe
Use this game as a choice board for your students. Allow them to decide which activities they are going to complete, as long as they get 3 in a row! You could also use this in a center or as a partner activity.
Grab this FREEBIE here! ...and follow my store!

Lastly, this packet includes 4 more activities for your students!

Apply vocabulary into a story!

Keep as a weekly dictionary or all year long!

Help your students to make connections to their words!

Grab all of these activities in my TpT store! This packet along with my ENTIRE store is on sale through the 4th of July!

Cheers and have a fantastic weekend!
